SOLD - Domed Mulberry Box
Domed top-grain painted mulberry-red box. Hand dovetailed. Late 18th, early 19th century. This very fine early box has cotter pin hinges and one has been repaired with leather. This is the box I bought in tandem with the yellow painted pantry box you saw ear lie. Again, the past owner documented his purchase on a tavist medicine ad saying "American box, circa 1810, Vermont". Original paint and bought by him in 1991. Now: in pencil, inside on top of the box it reads "Antoinette Landry, Graniteville, VT." Methinks that that is quite special and very important and exciting. There are square nails on the bottom and on the lid.
